Cookies

MinexMaps uses only cookies the site needs to work. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.

• Session: keeps you signed in.
• CSRF: protects forms from being submitted by other sites.
• Map access: remembers the portal or share link you opened, so its maps load.
• Map portal sign-in: remembers that you signed in to a client's map portal (7 days) and, once you have confirmed your work email, who you are on this browser (90 days), so you are not asked again each time. It holds a number, never your name or email.
• Preferences: your language. (Light or dark mode is kept in your browser's own storage, not in a cookie.)
• Trusted browser (mfa_trusted, 30 days), only if you tick “Trust this browser” after a two-factor code: skips the code on that browser.
• Embedded maps (mm_embed, 7 days): when a company shows one of our maps on its own website, remembers that this browser may load that map there. It is kept separately for that website only.
• Sign in with Google: while you sign in, a short-lived note of the sign-in in progress is kept in your session (no separate cookie, nothing from Google is stored afterwards).
• Cloudflare Turnstile, on the contact and sign-up forms and before the public demo map: checks you are not a bot.
• Demo pass (mm_demo, one day): remembers that you passed the check before the public demo map.

Website analytics (PostHog), on the public pages only and only when you are not signed in, uses no cookie: it keeps a random visitor id and the visit's session in your browser's local and session storage, so a visit can be followed across those pages (with session replay turned off it keeps them in the page's memory only). Nothing is stored if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. In the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Quebec nothing is stored until you accept analytics on our banner.

Your analytics choice (mm-analytics, in your browser's local storage, not a cookie): "on" when you accept analytics, "off" when you decline it or press "Turn off analytics" on the Privacy Policy. It is kept until you change it or clear your browser's site data, and it never leaves your browser. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Map views are counted without a cookie (see the Privacy Policy).
