Terms of Service
These terms are between you (the team that subscribes, and its users) and Exploration Insider Ltd., which runs MinexMaps. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them, to the Acceptable Use Policy and to how we handle data in the Privacy Policy.
1. The service
MinexMaps publishes your map projects as private or public web maps. The service is licensed, not sold: while your subscription is active you get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it. You get no right to the software, its source code or the servers.
2. Accounts and your team
The team owner is responsible for the team's users, their seats and what they do. Keep sign-in details secret and tell us at once if you think an account was misused.
3. What you may not do
- Reverse engineer the service, or scrape or bulk-extract other clients' or third parties' data.
- Load-test, probe or bypass the plan limits, access controls or rate limits.
- Anything the Acceptable Use Policy forbids.
4. Plans, limits and fees
Plans and their limits are those shown when you subscribe. Over a soft limit we warn you before anything is blocked, and live maps are never switched off by a soft limit. Fees are billed in advance through Stripe, with applicable sales taxes. Plans renew automatically until cancelled; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
5. Your data
Your data stays yours. You let us host, process, render, back up and display it as the service needs. You confirm you have the right to publish every layer you upload, at the visibility you choose (private or public), including government and purchased data under their own licences. We may remove a layer after a credible licence complaint.
6. Public and press-release maps
You alone are responsible for your disclosure obligations (for example NI 43-101 and exchange policies) and for a public map matching your news release. MinexMaps is not a Qualified Person for your project; publishing a map is not a review or an endorsement.
7. The AI map assistant
Answers are generated by an AI model and can be wrong or incomplete; check them against the source data. The assistant only changes what the map shows, never your data. Questions, the layer list and query results are sent to Anthropic under its commercial terms, which do not allow training on them.
8. Upload beta
Self-serve upload is a beta: it may change or stop, automated checks may reject a project or remove parts of it, limits may be tight, and there is no service level. We keep an archive copy of each replaced map.
9. Suspension, cancellation and your data afterwards
We may suspend publishing for late payment, a breach of these terms or a security emergency, with notice where possible. After cancellation your maps stay read-only for 12 months, then are deleted after 30 days' notice, or earlier if you ask in writing.
10. No advice, and limits of liability
Maps are visualisations of your own data. Third-party layers and basemaps come without any warranty of accuracy. Nothing in the service is geological, engineering, legal or investment advice. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11. Changes and law
We give 30 days' notice by email of material changes and ask you to accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there (to be confirmed in the reviewed version).
