MinexMaps sets up your company's team, its portal and its first maps, and invites you as the team's administrator. This page takes you from that email to a live map, in order; each step links to the guide with the details.
1. Accept the invitation
- The email says you have been invited to join your company's team on MinexMaps. Press Accept invitation (the link works for 14 days).
- New to MinexMaps: press Create Account to Accept, your address is filled in: choose a password, tick that you agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, and press Sign Up. Already have an account: Log in to Accept, then Accept Invitation.
- You land on your team's dashboard, and we email you a welcome with these first steps. Accounts only come from invitations: there is no open sign-up, and an invitation only works for the address it was sent to.
2. Signing in
Sign In with your email and password, or Continue with Google when your address is a Google account (see Sharing and access). Forgot your password? Press Forgot your password? under the password box on the sign-in page (or reset it here): we email you a link. Your name, password and sign-in connections are under Profile and Change Password in the menu.
3. Your menu
- Dashboard: your team's first steps, ticked as you do them.
- Usage: storage, live maps, seats, data served, uploads and the AI assistant this month (Usage and limits).
- Upload a map and QGIS plugin: only when your team publishes its own maps (MinexMaps switches this on for you; otherwise we publish them for you). The dashboard's "Install the QGIS plugin" step shows only then too.
- Manage maps: every map your team owns, with its settings, share links and website embeds (administrators only).
- Team Settings: the team's name, its people, their roles and invitations (administrators; also under your team's name at the top of the menu).
- Subscription: your plan (administrators only).
4. The path to a live map
- Check each map while it is in preview. Only your team's administrators and MinexMaps staff can open it. Manage maps.
- Set how it opens: its name, the start view, the layers on at start, zoom limits, saved views. Map settings.
- Decide on the AI assistant: off, for your team, or for everyone who opens the map, and which layers it may read. The AI map assistant.
- Go live, now or at a set time for a news release. Preview and going live.
- Invite your colleagues as Members or Administrators. Your team.
- Share it: make share links on the map's settings page (a name, an expiry, the viewer), switch them off, and see who opened them; your portal, its sign-in and saved-view links. Sharing and access.
- Put it on your website, and switch the AI assistant on for an embed. Your map on your own website.
- Drill plans and editors: approve the plans people send, and name the geologists who may approve them too. Drill plans, sketches and editors.
What MinexMaps sets up for you
Ask us for any of these; they are not on your pages:
- Creating your team and inviting its first administrator (only MinexMaps creates teams).
- Your portal: its look, tabs, cards and figures, its sign-in, and whether it shows the website panel.
- Website embeds and the sites each may appear on (you switch the AI assistant on an embed yourself).
- Which viewers each map offers (Basic viewer, Advanced viewer, Underground 3D), and the AI assistant's master switch for a map.
- Publishing your maps for you, and letting your team upload its own.
A free preview
If we have given your portal a free preview, your portal page shows how many days are left, and each time someone opens one of its maps a small note at the top says until when (the × hides it for that map). When the preview ends your maps stay open unless we have agreed otherwise; the notes then say it has ended. To keep your maps, talk to us or see the pricing.
Ask the help
On these help pages and on Manage maps and a map's settings, team administrators have an Ask the help button (bottom right). Ask how to do something in plain words: the answer comes from these guides only, with links to the sections it used. It cannot see or change your maps, team or account, and it knows nothing about other teams; for anything the guides do not cover, contact us. Questions are kept for 90 days so we can improve the guides (see the privacy page); keep them to how-to questions and leave out personal details.
Stuck? Contact us and we will help.
